She went in for surgery yesterday at 9 am. She was supposed to be done by 3 but it ran long. I saw the doctor around 4 and he said he believes he was able to get all of the tumor. This is huge as he had told us his plan was to go after 90% and depending on what he found, he'd try for 94 or 95% but that would likely be all he would be able to get. So yeah for the doctor!!!
I was able to finally see her around 6 pm in the recovery room. She looked pale/yellowish and has half her head shaved - like a half mohawk. She was still sleepy. The nurse said her vitals were all good, she knew her name, birthdate, year, and that she was at Kaiser - those are all good signs. They were going to move her to ICU sometime last night, but they weren't sure when.
I am going back today in an hour or so to check in on her and see how she is doing. I beleive she will only be in ICU for a day or two and then move to a regular room. For those that wanted that information, I can provide another update as I find out more. She is at Kaiser hospital on Morse Avenue in Sacramento. The room number is still up in the air.
THANK YOU ALL for your prayers and well wishes. It really meant a lot to me yesterday. I was able to read them from my old fashioned cell phone and they brought me to tears. I was strong all day until I read the e-mails. Thank you again.
I'll send another update this evening.
